SOUTHBURY- Elizabeth W. "Liz" Long, 91 of 799 B Heritage Village, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ernest Long.
Mrs. Long was born in Glocster, Rhode Island, November 30, 1915, daughter of the late Richard and Julia (Winsor) Fiske. She owned and operated the Cod Fish Antiques in Sandy Hook for many years. She was member of several Antiques Associations. She loved to cook, enjoyed music and also taught piano. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves two sons Barry Long of Norwalk, CT and Marc Long of Wilbraham, MA and two daughters Sydney Machon of Westlake Village, CA, and E. Julie Kostes of Portland, Oregon as well as 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Long was predeceased by a daughter, Alyson Long-Mack.
A funeral service will be held at South Britain Congregational Church on South Britain Rd. (Route 172) on Saturday, March 24th at 11:30am. Burial will be in the spring in Newtown Village Cemetery, Newtown. There are no calling hours. The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North is in charge of arrangements.
