Elizabeth (Bengeser) Lechner, 92, of Manchester, CT, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Hartford Hospital. The daughter of the late Sylvester and Walburga (Waltenberger) Bengeser, Elizabeth was born in Tannhausen, Germany. She married in 1947 and moved to Connecticut in 1952. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She was an enthusiastic member of the Bridgewater Garden Club. In addition she served as a tireless and compassionate volunteer at New Milford Hospital. She was lovingly devoted to her children and grandchildren and, as an avid reader, she was particularly dedicated to furthering their love of learning. Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother Georg Bengeser. She is survived by her son George Lechner and his wife Karla of Bristol, her daughter Doris Castagno and her husband Joseph of Danbury, her son Felix Lechner and his wife Loretta of New Fairfield, and her daughter Monica Oswald and her husband Daniel of Glastonbury. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Sandra Colucci and her husband Andrew of Boston, Lauren Lechner, and Alexis and Stephen Oswald.

Services: In accordance with Elizabeth's wishes, the funeral services to be held on Friday, November 22, will remain private.
