Elena (Snyder) Maclean passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family early morning November 25, 2024. Up until the end Elena maintained her quick wit and sense of humor.

Elena was born on May 18, in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Raymond E. and Helen Wasilauskas Snyder. Elena was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School.

Elena graduated from Barry College in Miami, FL in 1960 with a degree in nursing, a career she was most passionate about. She worked in the pediatric ICU at Boston Children's hospital, the Public Health Department of Waterbury, and eventually as a nursing student recruiter. A fter her nursing career, Elena continued her passion for nursing by volunteering as a patient advocate at Waterbury Hospital.

Elena enjoyed shopping and getting dressed up to go out with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and creating flower arrangements, as well as singing. She was an active member in her church, serving communion and singing in the church choir. She also sang with the Waterbury Chorale and was a proud active member of the Southbury Garden Club.

Elena is survived by her loving husband Donald W. Maclean, two children Meredith (Todd) Geffert, and Doug (Monika) Maclean, as well as her grandchildren Jordan and Jyllian Geffert. She reunites in heaven with her beloved parents, brother, and daughter in law.

Friends may call in the daily chapel of Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South in Southbury on Saturday November 30, from 9 to 11 am. A funeral mass will be held at 11 am. Burial will be held privately at Mt. Olivet cemetery, Watertown.
