Mrs. Eleanor C. Pearson, 86, of Southbury died Monday December 29th at The Lutheran Home of Southbury. She was the widow of Robert Rutledge Pearson with whom she had been married to for 59 years.
Mrs. Pearson was born November 16, 1922 in Woodbury the daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy (Cowles) Curtiss. She worked for the Woodbury Telephone Company for over 40 years beginning her career as a phone operator and retiring in business administrative work. After her retirement, she began volunteering at the Woodbury Senior Center and Waterbury Hospital. She was an active member of North Congregational Church in Woodbury. She was in the Choir as well as the Women's Fellowship. Her hobbies included music, playing piano, traveling, knitting, ballroom dancing, square dancing and dining at her favorite restaurants. The most important things in her life were her family, friends and her church.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Dee Flanagan of Cheshire and Joan Wright of Ashby, MA, 8 grandchildren, Brian Flanagan, Jen, Mathew and Amanda Baumber, Kelly, AJ, and Nickie Wright and Kate Infantino, 6 great grandchildren, Malia, Michael and Sydney Baumber, Mason and Emma Infantino and Cole Gjereson. She was predeceased by a brother Charles Curtiss.
