Edwin N. Benson, age 68, of Watertown, CT, died peacefully at his home on August 11, 2015. He was born on May 2, 1947 at Waterbury Hospital to the late William E. and Thilda (Kinney) Benson.
Ed attended local schools, where he was active in the 4H club. He graduated from Woodbury High School in 1965. Ed spend 40+ years working for Pressmate, Inc. in Woodbury. He retired in 2009 as a foreman of the company. He also delivered the Republican American morning paper for over 25 years.
Mr. Ed, as he was affectionately known, loved sports. He coached girls softball and soccer in the 80s and early 90s when his daughters were young. He enjoyed watching the Huskies with his dear friends. He closely followed the NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys his entire life. Ed was also very active in his neighborhood. Everyone in his lake community knew they could call on him at any time and he would be there to lend a hand. He was the reigning President of the Lake Winnemaug Association of which he was a member for over 35 years. He will be remembered for his Haunted Hayrides
