Edward L. Werner, 84, of Newville, PA and Woodbury, CT, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 in Carlisle Regional Medical Center, Carlisle, PA.  He was born on May 7, 1932 in New York City, and was the son of the late Edward and Cecilia (McNamara) Werner.

He was a graduate of the Fairfield Prep School in Fairfield, CT and earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Georgetown University.  Edward was a US Army veteran.  He co-owned Sterling Sintered Technology in Winsted, CT for more than 30 years.  He was a member of the St. Theresa of Avila in Woodbury, CT and the Watertown Golf Club.  Edward was an avid golfer, horseman and story teller.  He and his wife enjoyed and participated in combined driving events with their horses.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosemary (Ranzini) Werner, one son, Ernest L. Werner of Woodbury, CT, one daughter, Roseanne W. (husband, Bret) Hackett of South Lake Tahoe, CA, two grandchildren; Ruby Rose Hackett and Van Werner Hackett.  He was predeceased by one sister, Patricia Hadley.

A memorial service will be held at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St, Woodbury on Saturday, May 6 from 10 - 12 with a service at 11:30 A.M.  Burial will be private at the New North Cemetery of Woodbury.
