Obituary


Mr. Edward D. Keegan, 69, of Bethlehem passed away peacefully Thursday April 11, 2013 at VITAS Innovative Hospice Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Pat (Packer) Keegan.
Mr. Keegan was born February 17, 1944 in Waterbury, a son of the late Charles Keegan, Sr. and Grace (Flood) Keegan. He attended Sacred Heart High School and was a long time employee of Anaconda American Brass and Ansonia Copper and Brass in both Waterbury and Ansonia.
A 35 year resident of Bethlehem, Ed spent a lot of time serving as a volunteer for numerous local organizations as well as his church. Ed loved traveling, especially his many trips exploring Ireland and beyond and he particularly enjoyed the annual trips with his son to golf tournaments and NASCAR races around the country.
Ed is survived by his wife Pat, their son, Sean of Windsor, his brother, Charles Keegan and his wife Arleen of Northfield, his sister in law, Sandy Allen of Middlebury and his nieces and nephews; Debbie Tucker, her husband Jim and their children, Tyler and Caitlin of Winchester, Marty Keegan and Sarah Rochelt of Bolton, John Keegan and his wife Jennifer and daughter Siena of Boston, MA, Audra and Billy Allen of Burlington, VT. He is predeceased by his sisters, Barbara and Carol Ann.
He leaves many friends who have been touched by his humor and spirit. One particular group have been his brothers and sister in life: Jim and Donna Bannon, Bob and Delphine Blewitt, Brian and Jackie Rielly, Pete and Kay Thompson, Maureen and the late Mickey Riley and Judy Horgan-Arcand.
The family would like to express their gratitude especially to Dr. Stephen Rubenstein and staff, to Dr. Charles Cha of Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale and his team, Visiting Nurses Northwest and the entire staff of VITAS at St. Mary's Hospital.

Funeral: Church of the Nativity

Services: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday April 20th at 11am at the Church of the Nativity, East. St., Bethlehem. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St., on Friday April 19th from 5 - 8pm.
