Born on June 15, 1931, in New Milford, CT, Ed was the son of Charles and Dorothy Easton. He graduated from New Milford High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. From November 16, 1950, to November 12, 1953, Ed proudly served his country, specializing in Intelligence. His courage and dedication were evident during his deployment in Korea, where he was involved in operations against enemy forces from November 10, 1952, to October 1, 1953. After his honorable discharge, he joined his father's painting business, where he continued to work diligently into his early 80's.
Ed was a man of simplicity, often found with a cigar in hand, embodying a down-to-earth spirit that resonated with everyone he met. He embraced life's little pleasures, from collecting coins and military artifacts to reveling in the beauty of the outdoors. Above all, Ed treasured the moments spent with his family, earning the affectionate title of "Funcle" to his nieces and nephews—a testament to the joy he brought into their lives. His love for family knew no bounds, and he was always ready to provide support and kindness to friends, family, and strangers alike. His generosity extended particularly toward causes that supported children, animals, and fellow veterans.
Ed's outgoing personality and ability to talk to everyone made him a person you would want to have as a friend. Ed lived a long life and through this journey he interacted with many people. To this day everyone who knew Ed has a humorous and heartwarming story to share. Through these stories, Ed lives on within the hearts and minds of others, even those who did not personally know him.
He is survived by his beloved niece, Elizabeth, and her husband, Edward Faustino of Southbury, along with their children, Christopher and Taylor; nephew Brian and his wife, Wendy Piersall of Bridgewater, CT, and their children, Allison, Megan, and Michael; nephew Steven and his wife, Marrilee Easton of Chino Valley, AZ, and their children, Sarah, Sandra, and Joshua. Ed was predeceased by his parents, siblings Dolores Kwasnik, Elsie Mott, and Stuart Easton, as well as his niece Ilona Ferguson.
The family would like to thank Accent Care and the Lutheran Home of Southbury for making Ed's final days peaceful and comforting.
Ed will always be loved by all.
