Edith R. Kiyak, 78, of Bethlehem passed away at home on Monday September 2, 2013
Edith was born in the Bronx. She led a successful career of teaching. After graduating from Geneseo in 1957, she taught in many communities in New York, Michigan, and Connecticut serving special needs children. Her career lasted more than 42 years, which just ended this spring.
Edith had a passion for the arts, classical music, needlepoint, and angels. Edith performed with the Waterbury Chorale; which included performing around Europe. Edith was a devoted and active member of the First Church of Bethlehem. She enjoyed singing with the choir there as well.
Edith moved to Connecticut after marrying her late husband Michael Kiyak where she continued to teach and raise her two sons.
Edith is survived by her sons, John Kiyak, Michael Kiyak and his wife Kathleen; her grandsons Griffin and Garrett Kiyak and siblings June Scofield, Carol Billet, Joseph and Bonnie Robsky.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The First Church of Bethlehem, P.O. Box 436, Bethlehem, 06751.

Services: A memorial service will be held Friday September 6, 2013 at 10: 30 am at the First Church of Bethlehem, 214 Main Street South.
