Elizabeth "Lynn" Cripe, 74, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital ICU, after a courageous battle with chronic lung disease.
Although a current resident of Wolcott, Lynn was a proud former Southbury resident for 44 years.
Born on June 11, 1950, in Louisville, KY, Lynn was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Sutherland and David Bere. From the age of 12, She lived in Jeffersonville, IN with her grandparents and graduated in the top 10 of her class at Jeffersonville High School in 1968. She continued her education at Indiana University, where she earned both her undergraduate and master's degrees in business. It was there that she met her beloved husband, Thomas Cripe, with whom she shared 32 wonderful years.
In the late 1970s, Lynn made Connecticut her home, embarking on a successful career with various organizations, including BRT, Nordex, Healthnet, Northeast Fasteners, Advanced Ear Nose and Throat, and Jones Lang Lasalle. Her professional life was matched by her vibrant personal interests. Lynn was an avid bridge player, passionately engaged in the game until her passing. She also loved to travel and indulge in her fondness for shopping. Over the years, she explored many corners of the globe and created lasting memories. An avid animal lover, Lynn was known for her boundless compassion towards animals in need; her beloved cat, Smokey, will miss her deeply.
Lynn is survived by her beloved daughter, Brittany Cripe of Watertown, and her sister, Denise Seber, of Virginia. She leaves behind many close friends who were like family to her and her daughter. Lynn was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Cripe, and her grandparents, George and Edith Bere.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home located 235 Main St. N. Southbury, CT 06488. A service will begin at 6:15 P.M.
