Mr. Douglas M. Henderson, 62, of Highview Terrace, died Monday August 14 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. He was the husband of Martha (Somers)Henderson.
Mr. Henderson was born July 12, 1944 in Waterbury, son of the late Ray and Frances (Morgan) Henderson.
He was a graduate of the Avon Old Farms High School, Quinnipiac University and Southern Connecticut State University before serving in the National Guard. He was a teacher at Judson Elementary School in Watertown for 35 years, during which time he was also a member of the Connecticut Education Association. He was the President of the Duck Pin Bowling League in Cheshire as well as an active member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Scott Henderson and Craig and his wife Rachel Henderson all of Cheshire.
A memorial service will be held on Friday August 18th at 11am at the Cheshire Lutheran Church, 660 West Main St. with Pastor Charles Gustafson officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere is in charge of arrangements.
