Obituary

Ms. Dorothy Lautenschlager, 85, of Southbury died Monday May 4th at her home in Heritage Village. Ms. Lautenschlager was born January 1, 1924 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Burnett and Agnes (Bloss) Johnson. Formerly of Bethlehem, she lived in Southbury for over 60 years. She was a Librarian at the South Britain Library and acting Postmaster for the town of Southbury. Her most recent job was working as a Medical Secretary for the Southbury Training School for over 15 years. Ms. Lautenschlager was a member of the Southbury Training School 15 year club and the South Britain Congregational Church Women's Fellowship.
She loved knitting, gardening and was a veracious reader. In her later years she became a CNN addict.
She is survived by a daughter Laura Murray of Falls Church, VA, a son Jon Lautenschlager of Sunnyvale, CA, two granddaughters, Gayle and Stephanie, two nieces and a cousin Louise Johnson. She was predeceased by a son Robert "Marty" Lautenschlager, a brother Paul Johnson and a sister Eleanor Morgan.

Cemetery: Pine Hill Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Funeral: South Britain Congregational Church

Services: A funeral service will be held on Monday May 11th at 11: 00am at South Britain Congregational Church, Rt. 172. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North, on Sunday May 10th from 5: 00 - 7: 00pm.
