Dorothy Helen Gedney, 87, of 207A Heritage Village, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Waterbury Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Gedney, three sons, Donald J., Gary and Stephen Gedney and 4 grandchildren. Mrs. Gedney was born in Rye, NY on June 27, 1921, daughter of the late Lambert and Rose (Mc Lean) Billington. She and her husband resided in Rye until moving to Heritage Village in 1987. She was the manager and officer at the Village Savings Bank in Port Chester, NY until her retirement in 1986. In Rye, she was a Cub Scout den mother and a sponsor and chaperone for the CYO at the Resurrection Church. In Southbury, Mrs. Gedney was a member of the Women's Fireside Club, a volunteer at the River Glen Health Center and at the Sacred Heart Church Library and the church's religious education program. She was also a director of the Heritage Village Republican Club.
