Mrs. Dorothy S. Easton, 84, formerly of Heritage Village in Southbury, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2007 at the Village of Brookfield Commons, surrounded by her family and caring staff. She was the widow of Frank D. Easton.
Mrs. Easton was born January 13, 1923 in Springfield, MA daughter of the late George and Hazel (Bradway) Scott. She was a resident of Wilton for 40 years. Besides being a dedicated homemaker, Dorothy had many interests. She enjoyed craft activities, was an avid gardener and accomplished woodworker. Dorothy was also an excellent athlete and played tennis, golf and bowling competitively. She was an ardent supporter/fan of women's sports, especially the UCONN Huskies Women's basketball team.
She is survived by her five daughters, Kathy Roig and her husband Pat of Danbury, Jesse Connor and her husband Jack of Port Republic, NJ, Sue Easton and her partner Charles Smith of Delray Beach, FL, Laurie Easton of Shelton, CT and Francie Easton and her partner Kirk Langer of Southbury, CT, as well as four grandchildren, Kaitlin Roig and Blake,, Colette and Teal Connor and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday October 26th from 6:00 - 8:00pm at The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. A graveside service will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamden, MA at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dorothy's memory to Regional Hospice of Western CT, 405 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810 or to Alzheimer's Association, 279 New Britain Rd., Kensington, CT 06037.
