Dori was born January 24, 1935, daughter of the late Russell P and Esther Carol (Heller) Jones. She was born in New Haven and moved to Waterbury in 1940.  Dori graduated from Nursing School at Waterbury Hospital where she worked in the delivery room until 1958 before starting a family. Dori was the Republican Registrar of Voters for many years.   She also was a member of the Roxbury Congregational Church, church school teacher and a member of the choir. Dori volunteered countless hours at the American Red Cross Blood Mobile and was very faithful at donating blood.  She also volunteered for many town functions such as Earth Day, ice cream socials, Old Roxbury Days and girl scouts to name a few.

Amongst her many talents, she was a painter, artist, carpenter, community town nurse, lifeguard at the "Falls" and just a jack of all trades.
