TORRINGTON- Mrs. Doris Levell, 76, died suddenly Thursday, July 12, 2007, at her home.
Doris was the wife of William, daughter of the late Doris Hall, mother of Heather, sister of Audrey, sister-in-law to the late George Hughes, mother-in-law to Kevin and loving Nana to Patrick, Bridget and Colin. Doris was born in England where she and William were married in 1958. After living and working in Scotland for nearly 20 years, Doris, William and Heather, immigrated to the United States in 1975 making their home in Woodbury Connecticut where Doris became a member of the The Woman's Club of Woodbury.
After retiring to Torrington in 1997, Doris continued to be a longtime member of The Woman's Club of Woodbury, serving as President and continuing as a board member. Doris was a keen and active participant in the Craft Group of The Woman's Club gaining local and state awards for her needlework. For many years, Doris was a charter member of the Connecticut Choral Society, an active member of The Woodlake Social Activities Committee and Woodbury Newcomers' Club. Doris was a strong supporter of several area charities

Funeral: United Methodist Church
Services: Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, July 18 at the United Methodist Church, 3 Church Street, Woodbury. Immediately following the funeral service, burial will take place at the New North Cemetery, Woodbury.
Visitation: Calling hours Tuesday July 17 5pm - 7pm at The Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street.
