January 8, 1924 – February 13, 2015
Doris Mae (Cohen) Braucci, 91, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully and with loving care at the Cook Willow Health Center in Plymouth, CT on Friday, February 13, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Braucci, Sr. and their children, Vanessa and Robert Braucci. A devoted mother, Doris is survived by sons, Andrew D. Braucci and Vincent J. Braucci, Jr.; her daughters-in-law, Margaret and VickiValaine; her beloved grandchildren, Vanessa and Garet Braucci, as well as her sisters-in-law, Marietta Belfiore and Roseann Meyers and her brother-in-law, Andrew Braucci and several nieces and nephews. As a young child, she contracted polio and grew up in an orphanage in London, England. Doris was self-taught and an avid reader. She worked in an ammunitions factory during WW II before marrying and moving to the U.S. Doris had a wonderful sense of humor and a dry British wit. She won many a blue ribbon at county fairs for her beautiful and intricate knitted items. While a resident at Cook Willow for the last few years, Doris was an active member of the Residents Council and voiced her opinion when she felt it was needed for both residents and the exceptional staff, whom she was very fond of.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Recreation Department of Cook Willow Nursing Center, 81 Hillside Ave., Plymouth, CT 06782.

Services: A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11: 00 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, 262 Main St. North, Southbury, CT. A reception at the church will follow the service.
