Donald attended Hotchkiss, and then Princeton University where he graduated in 1953.  He earned an MBA from Columbia University.  He met his wife of 42 years, Patricia ("Patsy") Liebeskind, when they both worked at Bill Hahn's resort in Westbrook, CT.  They married in June 1953 and had four children, and 13 grandchildren.  Donald and Patsy enjoyed a wonderful marriage, a happy home, many friends, extensive travel, and deep involvement in their community.

Donald spent his career as the President of Musler Liebeskind, a woman's retail clothing and accessories enterprise in Waterbury, Ansonia, Derby, and West Hartford.  He retired in 1995.

Donald's community involvement included being President of Temple Israel, a Board member of United Way and Saint Mary's Hospital, a Director of Development for the Jewish Federation of Waterbury, and a volunteer for the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury.

After Patsy's death in 1996, Donald had the good fortune to share a second love.  He and Anita Rosenbaum Liebeskind were married in 1997, and they had a happy life together until Anita's death in 2017.  Donald spent his final years living at the home he shared with Patsy, and then with Anita, in Southbury, CT.
