MIDDLEBURY- Dominic "Babe" Lavorgna, 85, of Middlebury, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Pesente) Lavorgna.
Mr. Lavorgna was born February 15, 1924 in Waterbury, son of the late Dominic and Victoria (Regis) Lavorgna. He resided in Middlebury for 50 years and retired from Uniroyal Chemical Company as a mechanical foreman after over 25 years of service. He was also a plumbing and heating inspector in Middlebury for many years. Mr. Lavorgna was a US Navy veteran of WW II, having participated in the invasion of Normandy, Sicily and Anzio and was member of the V.F.W. Post #7330 in Oakville.
He is survived by four brothers, Dr. John Lavorgna and his wife Joan of San Francisco, CA, Robert Lavorgna and his wife Ann, Dante Lavorgna and his wife Elaine all of Waterbury and Martin Lavorgna of Middlebury. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Mark Pesce of Middlebury.
He was predeceased by a sister, Concetta Calabro and three brothers, Felix, Louis and Thomas Lavorgna.
