Deborah Morgan Dearington passed away at the Lutheran Home of Southbury on September 1, 2015 after a relatively brief battle with cancer. She was 72 years old and had been a resident of Woodbury, Connecticut for 37 years. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Searls Dearington of Wallingford, Connecticut. She is also survived by her brother, James Morgan, of Tampa, Florida, and her nephew, Richard Hull, and her niece, Sarah Hull, both of Brooklyn, New York. She is predeceased by her parents, and her sister, Patricia Morgan Hull. Debbie's family will always be grateful for the loving and professional care she received at the Lutheran Home and VITAS Hospice on her last journey.

Debbie was born in Washington, D.C. in 1942. She lived in Montclair, New Jersey, Wilton, Connecticut, and the New Haven area before moving to Woodbury in 1978. She attended Wilton Public Schools, the Kathleen Laycock School in Westport (currently Greens Farms Academy), and Garland Junior College in Boston. She was a devoted retailer, working at Lord and Taylor and Best & Company. She sold women's clothes at the Yale Co-op in New Haven for 35 years. She was an enthusiastic seller who helped many husbands choose Christmas, birthday and anniversary presents for their wives.

Debbie was a generous and caring soul who frequently played hilarious practical jokes. Her favorite holiday was Halloween. Debbie will be best remembered as a lover of animals. She felt a special calling to care for homeless cats.
