Obituary

Southbury-

Well known Chiropractor & mentor to many

Dr. David E. Yurgaitis, 79, of Heritage Village died Tuesday August 30, 2022 at River Glen in Southbury with his family by his side. Formerly of Wolcott, Dave was the husband of Patricia (Cucolo) for over 57 years. Dave was born March 12, 1943 in Waterbury the son of the late Edward J. and Irene (Rodney) Yurgaitis.

Recently retired, he was a well known Chiropractor in Wolcott for over 50 years. Dr Y, as he was fondly called was well known for his gentle manner, infinite wisdom and handsome smile. He created a Chiropractic dynasty; his advice and wisdom inspired over 30 people to follow in his footsteps and become involved in Chiropractic or alternative forms of health care. Dr Y was an avid athlete- enjoying golf, racquetball and cheering on his favorite teams on Sunday afternoons. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially landscaping- always maintaining his property meticulously. The physical world will miss his presence tremendously;  but we rejoice in the hope that he will continue to guide our healthy decisions here on earth.

Besides his wife Pat and cherished pup Bela, he is survived by his son Derek & wife Jessica, his sister Marilyn Ribeiro, and grandchildren; Chase, Samuel, Madison, Elena, Nicolas, Harrison and Carson. He is also survived by his brothers in law Dr. Frank & wife Patricia Cucolo, Gregory and wife Angela Cucolo, James McQueen, sister in law Elaine & husband Anthony Moffo, nephews Michael & wife Danielle Ribeiro, Dr Matthew Cucolo,  nieces Cheryl & Thomas Brundage, Dr. Christine & husband David Thorn, Jennifer & husband Jay Pawloski, Jessica & husband Alex  Brooks, Marissa & husband Danny Trejo, Kathy Cucolo, Kelly Davis, Tracy Cucolo, numerous great nieces  & nephews, and other extended family members including Zach & Griffin Day, Alyssa and her husband Michael Aiello.

He  was tragically predeceased by his beloved son David, in 2008.
