David Alan Wood, 62, of Southbury, Ct . died on December 9, 2014. David was married to Carol (Puttenvink) Wood for 30 years. The son of Lillian E. (Fox) Wood and the late James E. Wood of Fairfield, David was born April 15, 1952 in Bridgeport, Ct. He was a member of the International Brothers of Electrical Workers first starting as an apprentice and continued to work as an electrician for over 35 years.
David was a dedicated member of the Boys Scouts of America for 25 years. He started as a Den Leader and Cubmaster of Pack 60 in Southbury. He continued on as Assistant Scoutmaster and then Scoutmaster of Troop 60 in Southbury. He enjoyed having a positive influence on the lives of fellow scouts. He was a counselor for many merit badges and led many to become Eagle Scouts. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Southbury where he chaperoned mission trips with the Senior Pilgrim Fellowship and was a confirmation mentor.
He loved camping, astronomy and hiking in the outdoors. He will be remembered for his wit, good humor and always trying to put a smile on other people's faces.
David was very dedicated to his family. He was a wonderful husband and father. He is survived by his son David and his fiancé©e Elizabeth Schreier and granddaughter Lillianna Wood of Southbury, his son Christopher Wood and fiancé©e Sonya Wilson of Beacon Falls and his son Connor Wood of Southbury. Also, brothers James Wood and wife Martha from Fairfield, Gregory Wood and wife Beth from Georgia, and sisters Cherie Walker and husband Jonathan Walker from Monroe, and Cathie Walz and husband Thomas Walz from Mass, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services: The funeral service will be held at The United Church of Christ of Southbury on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11: 00.
Visitation: Calling hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 12, from 3: 00 p.m. to 7: 00 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, Southbury.
