Obituary

David Earl Russell, 38, of Southbury, died Monday, December 1st at Danbury Hospital following a two year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Heather Powers Russell for nine wonderful years and adoring father to daughters Emily and Katherine. He was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Russell.
Born in Philadelphia, Dave was raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, and graduated from Central High School in 1988. Dave attended Yale University graduating in 1992. He was an All-Ivy Offensive Lineman and member of the 1989 Ivy League Champion Yale Bulldogs. It was at Yale that he met his brothers, the members of the Mooseroom. Following graduation, Dave began his professional career in New York City. After several years with Wachovia Bank in Charlotte, NC, Dave moved to Southbury in 2005. Dave most recently worked as a Major Account Manager for Thomson Reuters in New York City.
Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his sisters, Leslye Dedopoulos of Durham, NH and Tracie Russell of Marlborough, MA, a niece Meredith Dedopoulos, as well as countless friends, including his bulldog Roscoe, extended family and coworkers.
David's loves and passions included football, golf, cooking, spreadsheets, NASCAR and a good tailgate. He was a Northerner by birth, but a true Southerner by heart. Dave's gregarious personality touched all that knew him and will continue to do so.

Russell Memorial Fund (An educational scholarship fund for Emily and Katherine) c/o Nick Crawford, 131 Turtle Cove Lane, Huntington, NY 11743 or Danbury Hospital Development Fund, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT 06810, 11 East Oncology Unit or the Complimentary Medicine Program.

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Funeral: United Church of Christ

Services: A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2: 00 p.m. at the United Church of Christ, 283 Main St. North, Southbury, CT. Burial will be private in North Carolina.
