David C. Riall, 80, died peacefully on Friday September 3, 2021.  He was born in Long Island, New York on June 18, 1941 son of the late Gertrude and Charles T. Riall.  He grew up in Danbury, attending Wooster School, where he later taught and coached.  David was a long time Woodbury resident.  He was a brilliant man, extraordinarily skilled in carpentry, fine woodworking, and antique restoration.  He was very active in Scouting, where he attained Eagle rank as well as other honors.  He is a graduate of Amherst College, where he competed at the national level in wrestling, as well as being part of the Zumbyes, an acapella singing group.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Riall, her fiance William T. Drakeley, Jr.  and her children, Rebekah, Abigail, Sarah, David, and Elle; Betsy Riall Kauder and her husband John Kauder, his sister Debbie Riall Clemence and her husband Tom Clemence, their children, Lisa Clemence Taylor and her husband George Taylor and their daughter Madeline, and Jason Clemence and his wife, Tianna Tagami and their sons Riall and Coen.

Per his wishes there are no funeral services. In his memory, please pass on the kindness that he showed continually throughout his life to all around him. In lieu of flowers the family asks you consider a memorial donation to the Woodbury Food Bank, payable to "Community Services Council", CSCW, PO Box 585, Woodbury, CT 06798.
