David Harned Dicks Sr., 83, of Southbury, passed away at his farm on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013.

He was born on July 12, 1930 to the late Alfred & Kathrine (Harned) Dicks, in Cheshire CT.

David graduated from Hillhouse High School in New Haven in 1949. He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. David was a successful dairy farmer in Southbury since 1955. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his adored wife of 46 years Carole (Deschino) and four sons: David Jr., of Southbury; Rev. Russ & his wife Eglah of NJ; Lt. Col. Roland & his wife Alexandra stationed at Fort Drum, NY; and Daniel of Long Island, NY. He is also survived by two loved grandchildren Ryan & Raquelle.

Services: Visiting hours will be held from 1: 00 - 2: 30 p.m. on Saturday 8/24 at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home in Southbury. A Memorial Service will be held immediately after visiting hours from 2: 30 - 3: 30 p.m.
