June 30, 1920 – May 8, 2011
David H. Appelman, DDS passed away late Sunday evening, May 8th, at the River Glen Rehabilitation Facility. Dr. Appelman was born in Manhattan and raised in Brooklyn New York. He attended Boys High, New York University and New York University School of Dentistry. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for five years as a Dental Officer rising to the rank of Captain. He practiced dentistry in Brooklyn New York for fifty years.
His great passion in life, other than his family, was Contract Bridge. He succeeded so well that he became a Silver Life Master. He enjoyed the game in retirement in Heritage Village where he and his wife of 55 years lived. He was also known to be a lifelong New York Yankee fan. He remembered the day his two brothers took him to Yankee Stadium, where seated in the bleachers, he witnessed Babe Ruth and Lew Gehrig hit Home Runs. The love affair continued through the years.
His family adored him and he them. He is survived by his wife Pearle, a retired New York State Justice of the Supreme Court and his two sons, Harris, a practicing attorney in West Hartford, his wife Beth and his stepsons Zachary and Simon; His younger son, Miles, involved in N.Y. real estate as a J51 Expediter, and his wife Debra have two wonderful sons, Scott and Benjamin. His joy in his family made his life complete.
Memorials: He will be best memorialized thru contributions to Hadassah or the charity of your choice.

Visitation: Shiva will be held at Pearle's home on Wednesday, May 11th from 2pm until 8pm.
