Daniel Edward Schenzer, of Sandy Hook, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born on December 17, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and moved with his family to Brookfield at the age of 11. He attended Danbury High School.

Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years, including a year in Vietnam. His military service was an important part of his life, and he remained a very proud veteran.

Following his service in the Air Force, Daniel began a 30-year career with SNET, later AT&T. After retiring from the company, he started his own business, Communications Wiring Service, where he continued working primarily with the Danbury Public Schools and Danbury Hospital. A dedicated and hard-working man, Daniel continued working well into his 70’s.

Above all, Daniel was a devoted family man. He was kind, loving, compassionate, and always willing to help others. Family meant everything to him, and some of his happiest moments were spent around the dinner table at Sunday night family dinner and watching his grandchildren play softball and football.

Daniel had a lifelong love of gardening. He took great pride in growing vegetables and flowers and generously shared the fruits of his garden with family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling in leagues and playing golf.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his son Daniel and his wife, Christine, and grandchildren Reagan and David; his son Scott and Virginia, and grandson James; and his niece Ellen. He was pre-deceased by his son David.

Daniel will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, hard work, love of family, and generous spirit will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched.

Burial will take place at Zoar Cemetery in Sandy Hook. A private family service will be held at a future date.
