SOUTHBURY-

Daniel A. Benjamin, Jr. 54, of Southbury, died Wednesday August 16, 2006 at Waterbury Hospital after a long battle with cancer and ALS (Lou Gerhig's Disease.

Mr. Benjamin was born September 27, 1951 in Passaic, NJ, son of the late Daniel A. and Helen (Stewart) Benjamin, Sr. He was a graduate of Pascack Hill High School in Montvale, NJ. He also attended Ohio State University and Rochester Institute of Technology. He had been a commercial photographer and computer graphics artist with Del Re Associates for 25 years.

He leaves three sisters and a brother in-law, Deborah and James V. Del Re of Southbury, Judith Jensen of Montvale, NJ and Theresa Currie of Bangor, ME; four nieces and three nephews, Meredith Marr of Edgewater, MD, Donald Del Re of Wrightsville Beach, NC, Jamie O'Neill of Wilmington, DE, James Del Re of Hoboken, NJ, MacKenzie Currie of Montvale, NJ, Megan Currie of Bangor, ME, Jared Currie of Grand Forks, ND, three grand nephews, Brendan, Ryan and Joshua Marr of Edgewater, MD, two aunts Marguerite Benjamin of Easton, MD and Fort Lauderdale, FL and Lois Belyea of Mars Hill, ME and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St North. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call the funeral home Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Contributions may be made to the ALS Association, c/o Joan Argento, 4 Oxford Road, Unit D1, Milford, CT 06460.
