IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia E.
Bennett
February 21, 1945 – August 14, 2024
Woodbury-
Cynthia Eversley Bennett passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at The Village at East Farms in Waterbury, Connecticut where she had resided for the last 5 years. She was loved by all who knew her. Cyndy will be remembered for her keen sense of humor, intellect, and passionate nature. Her sweetheart Jeb, her daughters, and grandkids were her pride and joy.
Cyndy was born in Portland, Maine on February 21, 1945, the daughter of William R. Bennett and Margaret Gignoux Hay, and grew up in Portland and Andover, Massachusetts. She attended Abbot Academy in Andover, Massachusetts and then Whittier College and Boston University. Cyndy spent the majority of her adulthood in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Woodbury, Connecticut where she loved exploring museums, the Santa Fe Opera, and Broadway Theater. She loved Scrabble, photography, gardening, music, the arts, genealogy, politics, the Royal family, and Willie Nelson. Cyndy was famous for crossing paths with celebrities; her daughters remember how she enjoyed "brushes with greatness." A few of Cyndy's favorite things included a hot cup of coffee, well-done bacon, double-blueberry pancakes, enchiladas (especially from The Shed in Santa Fe) and she always traveled with water (before it was fashionable). Even after Cyndy left the west and moved back east, her love of the southwest remained.
Cyndy enjoyed active participation in public service throughout her life in Woodbury including serving on the Region 14 Board of Education and the Democratic Town Committee. She particularly enjoyed working as a Justice of the Peace from 1997-2005 and officiating numerous weddings.
Cyndy was predeceased by her mother Margie (1999), her father Bill (1986) and beloved aunt Natalie Gignoux (2009). She is survived by her life-long sweetheart James (Jeb) Boudreau; daughter Katherine Curtis and her husband Jeffery Curtis and children Brett Snowden, Emma Snowden, Lucy Callender, Henry Curtis; daughter Liza Eschallier and her husband Peter Eschallier and children Sophie Eschallier and Spencer Eschallier; daughter Jennifer Flynn and her husband James Flynn and children Zoey Flynn and Dylan Flynn; and daughter Sarah Callender and her son Mason Norris as well as extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be held this Saturday August 24, 2024 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home in Woodbury located at 2 School Street followed by a celebration of Cyndy's life. A private burial to follow. Contributions may be in Cyndy's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
