Concetta Rossi Minor
Loving wife, mother and grandmother

Concetta Rossi Minor, 98, of Woodbury passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2016. She was the wife of the late Kenneth H. Minor. Connie, daughter of Alexander and Ida (DelPo) Rossi, was born on March 17, 1917 at home in Waterbury, but spent most of her years in Woodbury. She graduated from Woodbury High School in 1935, and attended Post Jr. College. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth, in 1940, a union lasting 65 years. She worked as a secretary for the Engineering Department at Waterbury Farrell Foundry for five years before returning to Woodbury as a full-time homemaker.
Connie loved travelling throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe although her favorite "small" place was Cuttyhank Island, MA. She was an inveterate bridge player, a wonderful cook, and also volunteered at Flanders Nature Center, the Mattatuck Museum, Mitchell School and as a Cub Scout den mother. She skied, hiked, sailed, gardened, collected antiques, and dearly loved her Beagles and Labrador. A voracious reader, she was long-time supporter of the Woodbury Public Library.
Perhaps her Woodbury High School Wide Awake yearbook says it best, " When you see a crowd of girls shrieking with merriment, when you see a group of boys hanging around one girl, or when you see on the dance floor, the fasted moving, gayest stepping, girl in sight, you're sure to have located Connie..." It always continued.
Connie was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, and a younger brother Arnold. She is survived by her son Matthew, daughter-in-law Paula, grandson Joshua, and two nieces.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Charles McNair and Sue Wood of Alliance Medical Group in Woodbury, Julie Burne from VNA Health at Home Inc. of Watertown, Michelle Trotta CNA, long-time friend Bill Aufricht, and the entire staff of Regional Hospice and Homecare of Danbury for their ongoing love, care and support.
