Clovis H. Martin, age 96, of Carriage Lane, formerly of Falmouth, Maine died on Friday April 16, 2010 at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Litchfield. She was the wife of the late Dr. Thomas A. Martin. Mrs. Martin was born November 11, 1913 in Westbrook, Maine daughter of the late Leon B. and Georgia D. (Reed) Hawkes. She was a 1931 graduate of Deering High School in Portland, and a 1934 Graduate of the Maine General Hospital School of Nursing. She had worked as a nursing supervisor on the maternity floor at the hospital, where she met her husband, Dr. Martin to whom she was married 45 years. She had been a member of the Portland Country Club, and the Holy Martyrs Church in Falmouth. Mrs. Martin was a dignified and optimistic lady. She was an avid reader, who enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bridge and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Thomas A. Martin, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Port Charlotte, Fl, a daughter Ellen Oneglia and her husband Raymond of Litchfield, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sons, John & Peter, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services: A funeral mass will be held on Thursday April 22, 2010 at 11: 30am at St. Joseph's Church, 673 Stevens Ave., Portland, Maine. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, Maine.
