IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clorinda ''Claudia''
M. Cassidy
August 23, 1943 – May 2, 2013
Mrs. Claudia (Clorinda Lockwood) Cassidy passed away May 2, 2013 after a strong and courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved widow of Brian J. Cassidy.
Born in Waterbury on August 23, 1943, Claudia was the daughter of the late Vernon and Clorinda (Petronio) Lockwood. She lived her younger years in Waterbury, later settling in Woodbury where she made her home.
She was employed by Interlude Inc. in Danbury for 22 years, leaving her print on the residents she worked with and cared for with her kindness and love.
Claudia was an avid camper, enjoying camping with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She was happiest camping at the beach, seagulls flying near, sitting around a campfire playing guitar, and enjoying music. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years, enjoying precious time with her daughters during their time with Girl Scout activities. She had a passion for art and music, both a big focus of the time she spent with her family and residents. She had a special and loving connection with animals, leaving behind her beloved cats Benny and Delilah.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Linda M. Hill of Woodbury. Karla D. Rinaldi and husband Mario Rinaldi of Bethlehem, Kristen S. Mathieu and significant other Scott Geary of Watertown. Five grandchildren, James Hill of Torrington, Jordan Hill of Woodbury, Crystal Rinaldi and Logan Rinaldi of Bethlehem, and Connor Mathieu of Terryville, and a great grandchild joining the family in July. Two sisters, Diane Whitcomb and husband Charles Whitcomb of Woodbury, and Mary Ann Viscione and husband Gary Viscione of Killingworth and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt.
The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary's Hospital ICU, Vitas Hospice Care, Drs. Richard Biondi and He Zhang for their care and kindness. Special thanks to Claudette Volage and Jen Duhig for their selfless support and love of Claudia and her family during her illness.
