Clifton (Kip) Sebastian passed away on July 14, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at East Hill Community Living, Southbury. He
was born on October 9, 1947 in Boston, MA, son of the late Clifton and Beverly Sebastian.
Kip is survived by his loving wife Sarah (Nurnberger) Sebastian who were married for 53 years and lived in Southbury for the past 20 years. He is also survived by his daughter Kelly L. (Sebastian) Goncalves, son-in-law, Christopher Goncalves, and grandsons Matthew, Mason & Samuel. Daughter, Julie Sebastian and fiancé Daniel Colon. Also survived by two sisters, Linda Tartaglia (brother-in-law John) and Deborah Turnbull and predeceased by brother-in-law Shawn Turnbull, along with many nieces and nephews.
Kip grew up in Farmingdale, NY and later moved to Warwick, NY where he graduated from Warwick High School. A proud patriot Kip served his country in 1967 with the United States Army. He was a Combat Engineer serving in Vietnam. After an honorable discharge from the Army, Kip was employed by Nationwide Insurance. He later was employed as an IT Specialist by General Reinsurance Co. for 25 years. He continued to work in the IT field at The Hartford Insurance Co. and retired in 2011.
In his retirement Kip volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He also enjoying taking care of his grandsons and attending their soccer games. Kip was known for his sense of humor and had a lifelong love of music and playing his guitar. He also loved to travel and some of his favorite places were Hawaii, Italy and vacations with his family to Bethany Beach, DE. He enjoyed playing golf, pickleball, kayaking and baseball.

A celebration of Kip’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 pm at the South Britain Congregational Church Hall, 693 South Britain Rd., Southbury, CT. Parking is across from the church on Rte. 172.
