Clare Barbieri, 93, of Southbury and formerly of Grantham, NH, Weston, CT and Basking Ridge, NJ., passed away on January 30, 2021. Clare was the daughter of Archey and Hellen (Fry) Richey. She was the wife of Charles Barbieri for 62 years until his death.

Clare was a Julliard graduate who specialized in all percussion instruments but was especially fond of the Piano. She passed that love on through teaching piano for many years. She was a talented professional musician who shared her talent as a recorded artist and with live bands in NYC. After marrying her beloved Charles and starting a family, Clare worked in the Weston School Systems.

After moving to New Hampshire, Clare loved to spend time in the yard, watching the loons, quietly reading and entertaining family and visitors at their lake house in Grantham.  Always an animal lover, Clare was never without a pet and she will be greatly missed by her dog Pepper and cat Henry.

Above all, Clare loved her family. She loved when they had a chance to visit, whether that was when they came to NH or when she got to travel to them in Connecticut, Vermont or Colorado. These times were when Clare was happiest.

Clare leaves her daughter Cyndi and her husband Malcolm (Skip) Jaret of Woodbury, CT., Sandy and her husband Mark Boyer of Monkton, VT., and her son Charles (Chip) and his wife Tracy Barbieri of Grand Junction, CO. She also leaves to cherish her memory 5 grandchildren, Willie Jaret (Madison), Christopher Boyer, Thomas, Lilly and Lucy Barbieri and 2 great grandchildren, Fallon and Wyatt Jaxon Jaret.

The family is planning a celebration of life in Basking Ridge in the spring, when we can all safely gather. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a memorial donation to an animal related charity of your choice.
