Claire Anne Root, 59, of Woodbury passed away on May 14th, 2017. Born July 27th, 1957  the daughter of George and Gisele (Robert) Gagnon, she was the beloved wife of Stephen Root.

She grew up in Waterbury and went to school at St. Anne's and later graduated from Crosby High School. She was a sweet, kind, loving wife and Mother. She loved caring for and feeding all animals (birds, chipmunks) but especially loved her cats. Summertime was her favorite season and she loved the water, ocean, and especially looked forward to traveling and going on trips.

Besides her husband, Stephen, she is survived by her children, Stephen D. Root and Nicole Root. She is also survived by her two sisters Jeannette Elsea (her husband James) and Diane Frank and by many relatives, cousins, and in-laws.

Services will be on Saturday May 20, 2017 from 2-3 pm with a prayer service at 2:15 pm at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St. Woodbury.
