Charlotte Hamilton Desmarais, 65, of Middlebury, died Monday, May 28 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was the wife of Robert C. Desmarais, Sr. Mrs. Desmarais was born July 25, 1941 in Waterbury, daughter of the late James W. and Genevieve (Moran) Hamilton. A registered nurse, Mrs. Desmarais was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing, class of 1962 and worked as a private duty nurse. She was a Commissioner for the Middlebury Parks and Recreation Commission and a veteran member of the Middlebury Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Desmarais was a communicant of St. John of the Cross Church, the church's Parish Nurse and a past member of the Parish Council. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Catherine Desmarais of Stratford; three sons, Robert C. Desmarais Jr., David Hamilton Desmarais and John Edward Desmarais, all of Middlebury; five brothers, James W. Hamilton of Watertown, David C. Hamilton of South Paris, Maine, Thomas G. Hamilton and Edward H. Hamilton both of Southbury, John A. Hamilton of Pataskala, Ohio; 8 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Middlebury Public Library Children's Program, 65 Crest Road, Middlebury 06762.

Funeral: St. John of the Cross
Services: A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 31 at 11: 00 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, 1089 Whittemore Road, Middlebury. Burial will be in Lake Elise Cemetery, Middlebury.
Visitation: Friends may call Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
