Charles R. McGonigle, 81, of Brookfield, formerly of Heritage Village, Southbury, died Tuesday, May 6 at Danbury Hospital, Danbury. He was the husband of the late Margaret Mary (O'Connor) McGonigle. Mr. McGonigle was born February 13, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Charles R. and Josephine (Kashmarek) McGonigle. He retired from Gulf & Western, now known as Viacom as a cost accountant. Mr. McGonigle was a veteran of the Army and Navy, where he served in the Pacific Theater on a PT boat. He is survived by a son, Gerard McGonigle of New Milford; a daughter, Helen Hyde of Brookfield; a brother, Lawrence McGonigle of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Mary Wrenn of Chico, CA and 4 grandchildren. Mr. McGonigle was pre-deceased by a daughter, Kathleen Patterson.
