Charles H. Rose Jr., age 69, of Bethel, CT, passed away suddenly at his home on September 18, 2024. Raised in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of Charles H. Rose Sr. and Elizabeth Sewter Rose. He attended Tatnall High School, the University of Delaware, and Washington College. He is survived by sons Daniel (Flavia) Rose, Alexander Rose, Zachary Rose, brother Robert (Eileen McGuire) Rose, and Karen Rose.
Charles, known as Chuck by family and friends, had a long and vibrant career in broadcasting, starting at MTV in the 1980's before dedicating 32 years to working for World Wrestling Entertainment. Chuck appeared in several commercials for WWE. (Please view the video following the obituary). He was a passionate animal lover, a history enthusiast with a special interest in American history and the Civil War, and always had a bit of trivia or wisdom to share on any topic. His zest for life was infectious, and seen in his love of motorcycles, his fondness for movies- such as The Big Lebowski, The Shining, and Westerns- and his quick wit that kept everyone laughing. Despite living a great distance from one another, Chuck maintained a very close relationship with Bob and Eileen. Chuck loved his three children beyond measure, and he let them know it every day.
Chuck was well known around his home town of Bethel for his kindness and concern for the comfort of those around him. He was a regular at many favorite local spots, where he was loved for his jokes and warm personality. His family, friends, and all who knew him will remember his joy in life, his love of a good meal, and his unwavering desire to make others laugh. He will be deeply missed.
Chuck's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 11-1 at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel CT, 06801.
