IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cecelia 'Sally
Ann' Williams
May 13, 1932 – November 24, 2015
Cecelia, beloved wife of Gordon Williams for over 60 years, passed away on November 24, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital in the arms of her son David.
Sally Ann was born May 13, 1932 in Bridgeport, CT. to the late Joseph and Johanna (Kolesar) Trup. Growing up in Easton adjoining the Kolesar farm she was surrounded by her extended family. She had many tales of hard work as well as of get-togethers on the farm. Her mother died when she was very young and she was always thankful of the care given to her by her elders in particular Cecelia (Kolesar) Keller.
She led a simple life; Sally treasured her Grandchildren and devoted her free time to helping others. A passion of hers was to craft; many children have slept under one of her beautiful blankets. When her father's health waned she welcomed him into her home where she cared for him until his death. As the health of the older generation declined she helped care for them through their final years. At times they referred to her as the old people bus and were immensely thankful that she would stop by to visit, help with the cleaning or cooking as well as running them to the store and doctor appointments. She also gave generously of her time to meals on wheels.
We cannot put to words a better tribute to her than a poem she wrote herself in her youth. As she often told us, this was at a time when finding an orange in your stocking on Christmas morning was a special gift.
Dear Santa
I know it cannot really be
but do you think you could give these to me.
A doll that can sing and dance and walk,
cry and sleep and maybe talk.
A big red bicycle for three-
it's for my sister, brother, and me.
Three ponies to ride around the town,
jet black, snow white and toasted brown.
The war to be over by the count of three,
and all my uncles home with me.
Sally Ann Trup +/- 1944
