Mrs. Carolyn (Wood) Dains, 85, of Woodbury passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Robert E. Dains, Sr.

Carolyn was born August 26, 1930 in Woodbury, to the late Lester A. Wood, Sr. and Bertha (Cross) Wood.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, daughters Kathryn Chabot and husband Henry of Watertown, Barbara Dains of Watertown, Patricia Morgan of Watertown, Gail Garzon of Waterbury; son Glen Dains and wife Donna of Woodbury; sisters Joan Judson of Woodbury and Pauline Mansfield of Rome, GA; grandchildren Danielle Hamilton, Sharon Rosas, Cassandra Burr, Ashley Glascock, Alex Burr, Zachary Burr and Tyler Dains; and treasured great-grandchildren Michael, Izabelle, David, Lily, Wesley, Jacob and Madeline.

She was pre-deceased by her brother Lester A. Wood, Jr. and son Robert E. Dains, Jr.

Carolyn was a graduate of Woodbury High School and attended Post College. She was a beloved member of the Charcoal Chef family for almost 50 years. As a member of The First Congregational Church, she was an active volunteer in the Red Barn ministry. She also enjoyed studying the Bible through Precepts classes.

Services: The funeral will be held 11: 00 a.m. Friday, November 6 at The First Congregational Church, 214 Main Street South in Woodbury.

Visitation: Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, November 5 at the Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street in Woodbury.
