Obituary

Carol D. Glover, 88, died August 5, 2015, with family by her side.

It is with deep sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Carol. We rejoice in the extraordinary life she lived, and are blessed having shared in this life. Having known and been loved by her has made us better.

Carol was born September 7, 1926, in Danbury, CT to Carl and Molly (Kellogg) Denninger. She was the eldest surviving sibling to her brother Peter Denninger, and sister Mary "Tommy" Corey.

Carol graduated from Danbury High School in 1945 and attended Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where she graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Apparel Design, and a minor in Textile Design. She worked as a designer of women's ready-to-wear clothing beginning in 1950 before marrying William E. Glover, Jr in 1956 and having two children. Throughout life Carol remained active in her artistic pursuits and eventually furthered her professional career as a designer of children's clothes for Her Majesties Industries, and as Merchandise Director for Marlow Industries in South Carolina before moving back to Connecticut in 1987 to begin a second career as an interior designer.

Carol not only possessed artistic talent in clothes design, painting, sketching, and sculpting; she was also an amateur writer and published poet who was active with many writing and poetry groups. She will be greatly missed, but her art and prose shall live forever.

Carol is survived by her daughter Jeanne Johnson of Southbury, CT, son William (Ned) Glover of Stony Point, NY, and two grandsons Paul and Ben Johnson. She also leaves behind two nieces and several cousins, and a host of friends and colleagues who played important roles in her life.
