IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carmine
Ciardullo
December 28, 1937 – December 6, 2025
Carmine Joseph Ciardullo, a devoted family man of integrity, and distinguished
technology leader, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in
Southbury, Connecticut, just shy of his 88th birthday.
Born on December 28, 1937, Carmine lived a full life defined by service, professional
excellence, and a deep commitment to his loved ones.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. Upon
returning home, he met the love of his life, Barbara Kernan, and they were married on
October 4, 1959, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned over six decades.
Driven and determined, Carmine worked multiple jobs while attending night school to
learn computer programming, laying the foundation for a distinguished career. The bulk
of his professional life, from 1971 until his retirement in 2004, was spent at Nasdaq.
Demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication, he worked his way up to the position of
Vice President of Software Development, where he played a pivotal role in the
modernization of the global financial market.
In his personal time, Carmine was an enthusiast of sports and a skilled craftsman. He
was a dedicated fan of New York sports teams, holding typical allegiance to the
Yankees and the Giants. He was known for his athletic spirit, playing softball and
basketball for many years, and maintained a passion for golf well into his retirement. A
true jack-of-all-trades, Carmine loved to work on projects around the house,
demonstrating impressive skills in carpentry and electrical work. He found great joy in
ensuring his home was always a welcoming and functional space for his family.
Carmine's greatest source of pride and happiness was his family. He is survived by his
beloved wife, Barbara Ciardullo.
He will be deeply missed by his children: Denise Ciardullo, Michael Ciardullo
(Nancy), and Lori Marco (Tony). He was a cherished grandfather to Michael
Pelliccione, Benjamin Ciardullo, and Alex Ciardullo, and a beloved great
grandfather to Alyssa and Ariana. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law,
Patricia Kernan.
Carmine was preceded in death by his parents, Carmine and Josephine Ciardullo,
and his brothers, Fedele Ciardullo and Dominic Ciardullo.
