Obituary

MIDDLEBURY - Carlton A. Hall, 83, passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by family on Sunday, December 21, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores (Bambace) Hall. He also leaves behind his six children - his son Thomas Hall and wife Donna of Troy, NY; his son Gregory Hall and wife Gail of Southington, Ct; his son Richard Hall and wife Heidi of Manakin Sabot, VA; his son Peter Hall and wife Barbara of Ledyard, Ct; his daughter Susan (Hall) Cussen and husband Thomas of New Milford, Ct; his daughter Patricia (Hall) Soracin and husband Mark of Bethlehem, Ct; his five granddaughters Emily Hall, Brittany (Hall) Roberson and husband Will, Stacey Amburgey and husband David, Kendall Soracin and Sydney Soracin; his four grandsons Michael Hall, Christopher Hall and wife Kelley, Derek Cussen and Sean Cussen; his two great-grandchildren Lailah Roberson and Logan Amburgey. He was predeceased by his sister Shirley Wood. Carl was born on April 7, 1931, son of the late Archie and Emily (Moore) Hall of Ellenville, NY. He graduated from Ellenville H.S. in NY and went on to attend SUNY Cortland. Midway through his college years, he enlisted in the Army and served 2 years during the Korean War as a 2nd Lieutenant in Special Service. Following his return from service, he completed college and earned a Bachelor's degree in P.E. After several years of teaching and taking courses to further his career, Carl went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Guidance and worked toward his Doctorate in Administration. He devoted 28 years of his professional life to the students at The Horace Greeley H.S. in Chappaqua, NY as a teacher, guidance counselor, class advisor and highly decorated coach; earning multiple Coach of the Year Awards. He and his wife resided in Bedford Village, NY until retirement. Throughout his adult life, Carl enjoyed boating, snow skiing in Vermont with his family, playing tennis and golfing with family and friends. He always regarded his family as his greatest accomplishment and made raising and educating his children his top priority.

Services: A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10: 00am at St. John of The Cross Church located at 1321 Whittemore Rd. in Middlebury

Visitation: Friday, December 26, 2014 from 5-7pm at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North
