Obituary

Beverly Ann (Blenis) McKeone, 76, of Southbury CT went home to be with her Savior on Monday, September 5, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT following a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Albany, NY on December 11, 1939 to Gordon and Dorothy A (Palmer) Blenis of Surprise, NY. She was a 1957 graduate of Greenville Central School and a 1960 graduate of Albany Medical Center School of Nursing.
Married in October 1960 to John Buckley McKeone of Schenectady, NY; the couple moved to Torrington, CT and later had two boys, Jon and Erik. Beverly chose to forego working as a nurse to raise her boys and eventually entered nursing in 1971. She followed this profession for over 35 years before retiring in 2005.
Beverly was an active church member, Bible student, prayer warrior and a model for her family to emulate. She engaged in a wide variety of craft related hobbies and enjoyed travel and square dancing with her late husband John. She also enjoyed wintering in North Fort Meyers, FL with her loving sister Barbara.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the official family historian. Beverly traced the Blenis family line back to Europe. The family travelled from Houplines, a Flemish town in the North of France, to Holland where they boarded The Spotted Cow to America; finally arriving and settling in Harlem, NY in 1663. She even traveled to Europe and the town from which her father, Gordon's family emigrated.
Beverly accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior many years ago and trusted him fully to carry her through this life to her heavenly home for eternity.
She is survived by two sons, Jon A. McKeone (Sarah) and Erik S. McKeone (Dawn), as well as, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Dennis R. (Linda) Blenis, Barbara A. Quigley, Barry G. (Bonnie J.) Blenis, Bonnie A. Blenis (Robert Pizzo) and many nieces and nephews.
