Betty Jean Steward passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on February 17, 2017 in Southbury, CT.   Betty was born on August 4, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA to parents August Freise and Charlotte Schreiber Freise.  She graduated from St. Mary's Episcopal Boarding School in Peekskill, NY, and Russell Sage College in Troy, NY.  She worked for McGraw-Hill in NYC.  Betty was married to Donald A. Steward on November 20, 1954 in Kings Point, NY.  Donald passed in 1992.  She was a long time resident of Southbury, CT and spent a lot of time at her beloved vacation home in Perkinsville, Vermont.  She is survived and very fondly remembered by her sister Patricia Ann Oleson of Lake Mary, FL, and Nephews, Nieces, Grandnephews and Grandnieces.  Betty will be laid to rest at Woodbury Cemetery. Munson Lovetere Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
