Betty Phyllis (Wilson) Koeppel, 93, passed away at River Glen Convalescent Home on Sunday, February 6th. She was the widow of Charles H. Koeppel.
Betty was born in Waterbury on October 24, 1917 the daughter of Elmer Wilson and Bessie Granger Wilson. She was a graduate of Crosby High School. She was a resident of Woodbury since 1944. She was a former member and served as past secretary of the Woodbury Women's Club.
She worked as an Assistant Librarian at Waterbury Hospital until retirement in 1981. After retirement she volunteered at Waterbury Hospital for over 15 years. She also volunteered at the Woodbury Food Bank, Nonnewaug High School Library and the Woodbury Town Library.
Betty was an active member of the North Congregation Church in Woodbury. She was an active member and past president of the Women's Fellowship and sang in the choir for more than 20 years.
Betty was a lovely active lady who loved to traveling, was passionate about reading, working on crossword puzzles and playing bridge with her friends.
She leaves behind a son, Robert Koeppel of Southington, CT and daughter Beth K. Taylor of Woodbury, CT, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at River Glen for all the wonderful care and love extended to Betty while she was a resident.
