IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty
Feda
August 27, 1929 – January 28, 2025
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Schroeder Feda, 95, of Woodbury, CT. Married on October 6, 1951, Betty was the loving wife of the late Rocco F. Feda Sr. for 66 years.
Betty was born in Bridgeport on August 27, 1929 to the late William and Mable (Fritz) Schroeder. She attended local schools in Bridgeport, graduating from Bassick High School. Betty worked at Remington Rand and Raybestos Manufacturing before retiring from her career as a secretary with George A. Green Inc. in Woodbury.
Betty moved her family to Woodbury in 1969 for a taste of the quiet, rural life. She loved to dance and in her youth, you could find her dancing the night away at the Ritz Ballroom in Bridgeport.
As a free spirit, she never turned down an opportunity for adventure or travel; It didn't matter if near or far, on a whim or planned, with groups big or small. She was quick to find humor in any situation. She loved spending time at her grandparents home on the beach, swimming, walking, or taking in the views and sounds of the waves. She also could be found watching old movies.
Betty was an avid seamstress like her mother, who made and mended many clothes for her family and friends. She loved to cook and was always ready to feed anyone who would come to her home, even if they were not hungry. Bingo and penny slots at the casino were her weakness. Molly was her forever sidekick, always by her side snacking, watching TV, or just enjoying eachothers companionship. Most of all, Betty loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her cherished and loved family, her daughter Roxann (Lainie) Bickford of Bolton, CT, her sons, Rocco Jr. (Cynthia) Feda of Woodbury, CT, Scott (Kristine) Feda of Watertown, CT, four grandchildren, William Feda of Bristol, CT, Stephanie (Charles) Deering of Woodbury, CT, Katherine (Christopher) Stegos of Torrington, CT, Amy (Stephen) Van Hoesen of Pomfret, CT, five great grandchildren, Carter, Justin, Emily, Robert, and Leo. She was preceded in death by her siblings, William, Donald and Dorothy and her dear husband, Rocco.
Betty's family would like to thank the staff at The Ivy Assisted Living and Memory Care of Watertown, CT, Waterbury Hospital, AccentCare and Munson-Lovetere Funeral home for their care, compassion, support, and guideance for Betty and family through this difficult time.
