Elizabeth Ann "Betsey Palmer, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 with her family by her side. She was born in New Haven CT on October 2, 1941 to the late Joseph and Mary (Url) Feustel. She was a graduate of Cheshire high school (1959) and earned a degree in education from Southern Connecticut State College. She was a 45 year resident of Woodbury.
Betsey's working career focused on the community, holding positions of Director of Volunteer Services for both St. Mary's and Waterbury Hospitals. She served as the director of Elderly Services for the Woodbury Senior Center for the past 14 years until her retirement earlier this month. Betsey was an avid gardener and had a great appreciation and interest in early American history.
Betsey was the beloved mother of daughter Tracy and son-in-law William Acker of Rexford, NY; daughter Christine Palmer of Annapolis MD; son S. Douglas and daughter-in-law Jacqueline Palmer of East Kingston, NH and four cherished grandchildren Olivia and Emily Acker; Hailea and Morgan Palmer.

Services: A Celebration of Betsey's Life will be held on August 6, 2011 at 2: 00 pm at the North Congregational Church in Woodbury.
