Bessie M. (Dukas) Matusevice, 80, of Bradley Avenue, Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Beacon Brook Health Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of Edmund J. Matusevice.
Bessie was born March 21, 1927, in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Kraulis) Dukas. She was a graduate of Wilby High School. She retired from the Waterbury Hospital in 1993 after more than twenty years of service.
Bessie loved to dance and enjoyed watching Yankees' games on TV with her beloved dog, Bernie. She particularly treasured her regular pilgrimages to Foxwoods Casino with her sisters.
Her son, Michael C. Matusevice, of Waterbury, her daughter Cathy Greco and her husband David, of Woodbury, her daughter Judy Spak and her husband Tony, of Hamden, and her three grandchildren, Michael E. Matusevice and Simone Matusevice of Waterbury and Ian Spak of Hamden, survive her. She is predeceased by a brother, George Dukas and also leaves behind two sisters, Catherine Haralambos of Waterbury and Beatrice Abondolo of Clearwater, Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews
