Berta Weber Lemp, 92, of Waterbury, died Monday, December 9, 2009 at the River Glen Health Center in Southbury. She was the widow of Adolf Lemp. Mrs. Lemp was born December 21,1916 in Solothurn, Switzerland, daughter of the late Ernest and Lina (Hanselmann) Weber. Always a courageous woman, Mrs. Lemp immigrated to the U.S. with her husband and four children in 1957. A year after their arrival, Mrs. Lemp helped her husband start and run their own business, Sigma Swiss in Thomaston. She loved to travel and saw a large portion of the world. She always encouraged her children to travel, to experience new cultures and see the differences in people and places. She loved politics and was looking forward to watching the inaugaration of President Obama. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she was very much dedicated to her family. She is survived by her children, George Lemp of Waterbury, Jay Moore of Ohio, Suzanne Hernandez of Costa Mesa, CA, Annemarie McCabe of Woodbury and Yvonne Bogue of Oxford; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Berta's children want to thank all the health care workers and staff from Waterbury VNA Healthcare, VNA Masonicare, Waterbury Hospital and the River Glen Health Care Center for the outstanding care and friendship given to their mother.
